LAW FIRM PRACTICE

  • Junior attorney at a very large national firm, after some consideration and informational interviewing, accepted a position with a boutique firm.

  • Junior litigation associate transitioned to a first-year real estate position at a large firm.

  • Second-year associate at a large firm went to another national firm, switching practice groups from complex litigation to labor & employment.

  • Mid-level associate in the New York office of a national firm relocated to California and secured a position at a small law firm representing tech clients, even before he took the California Bar exam.

  • Senior associate at a large firm in Japan went in-house to a Japanese subsidiary of one of the largest companies in the United States.

SOLO PRACTICE

  • Senior associate opened a solo practice in a specialty area. Through blogging and speaking engagements, he has become a well-known expert in his field and is brought onto cases to consult. He has written several amicus briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court and often acts as local counsel in matters across the country.

GOVERNMENT

  • Senior associate at a national firm successfully transitioned to a position as an Assistant District Attorney, fulfilling a long-time goal to become a criminal prosecutor.

  • Senior attorney, who stepped off partnership track because she wanted more flexibility to spend time with her three children, found a job at a federal agency and (without asking) was told that she could choose to work full- or part-time.
